Awyr Las, which means ‘Blue Sky’ in Welsh, is your local NHS Charity. Awyr Las helps ensure that people across North Wales benefit from better NHS services when they need them the most.

Axminster and Lyme Cancer support was set up in 2018 by Mary Kahn, following a diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer in 2017. Although there was some great support available online and further afield having a network of support locally was missing. Along with a team of volunteers who were able to give their time ALCS started supporting local people in October 2018.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

We were set up in 1986 by a small group of women who were concerned that there was no provision for women experiencing abuse by their partners.

Bags for Strife is a charity for people bereaved by suicide. Set up by people who have lost loved ones. We have all experienced blame, anger, guilt and sadness. Now we want to share what has helped us, to help those whose journey is just beginning.

We carry out a range of fund raising activities to support the work of Bakiga Community Project in Uganda. We also undertake educational activities in the UK, about the work in Uganda and rural life there. Talks are undertaken in UK schools and churches. The UK trustees monitor the work carried out in Uganda, including bi-annual visits.
