Frequently Asked Questions

UK-based charities, CIOs, CICs, CASCs, educational institutions and community groups are able to register to fundraise through GiveWheel.

GiveWheel is free for charities. GiveWheel does not charge platform fees on donations. Individual donors are welcome to add an additonal donation to support the platform when they donate. GiveWheel does also enable charities to take advantage of additional tools and functionality through a paid membership.

The only fee deducted from any donation is a payment processing fee, retained by our payment provider (Stripe). For UK cards, this is 1.2% + 20p per transaction. Where charities choose to receive money from Charities Trust, additional fees are charged for their services (further information provided through onboarding).

We disburse funds via Charities Trust or directly via Stripe – and charities are able to select which method they prefer. In both cases, payouts will be processed monthly. Further information on each option is provdied as part of our non-profit onboarding.

GiveWheel offers two ways for charities to receive money. Where charities receive money into a Stripe account, the charity is able to download a record of every donation received for reclaiming Gift Aid.

Charities may also choose to receive money through our disbursement partner, Charities Trust. In this case, Charities Trust also provide an automatic Gift Aid reclamation service for charities.

Yes! We currently support donations in GDP, USD, AUD, EUR and CAD. Where international cards are used to donate, this may result in higher payment processing fees from our payment provider. In all cases, funds will be converted to GBP prior to disbursement.
