Harry had a particular interest in potential therapeutic applications of modern genetic techniques and hoped to go on to earn a PhD and undertake research into the interplay between genomic disorders and mental health. His family hope that this scholarship will assist someone with similar interests to pursue their academic dreams in ways that will in time benefit wider society.

HART is a small, voluntary organisation based in Hay-on-Wye in Mid-Wales run by three trustees - Becky, India & Mark- with the help of an amazing volunteer admin and foster team. We mainly help dogs & cats in need of new homes, but have taken in small animals and others in an emergency.

Making memories for young adults with cancer.

Hayward House is a Specialist Palliative Care Unit in the heart of Nottingham’s City Hospital. The unit provides a calming home-from-home environment for more than a 1,000 patients each year, but it urgently needs your help. Patients with advanced, progressive and terminal illnesses, including those at the end of their life, are cared for around the clock, by a specialist team of doctors.

We offer a professional and confidential counselling service to local adults, young people and children. In the first instance our work was primarily addressing issues relating to bereavement but over the years we have diversified our work in response to the needs of local people and now offer generic counselling to support people of all ages with a wide range of issues.

HD Livin’ is a charity setup to help Huntington’s Disease (HD) sufferers and their families. Huntington’s Disease is a mixture of neurological disorders including Parkinson’s, Dementia and Motor Neurone Disease. Sufferers live between 16 & 20 years from onset.

Headcase is a young and vibrant Charity with a slightly irreverent approach to a very serious subject matter, and definitely a maverick approach to fundraising. Headcase raises money solely for research to find a cure for this incurable, and frankly, absolute git of a condition called GBM.

Supporting people living with brain injuries.

We support adults impacted by Brain Injury, resulting from, but not limited to stroke, road traffic accident, trips and falls. Our aim is to improve day-to-day life for every individual we work with; to improve their confidence, independence, empower them to access community assets, to socialise, enhance their wellbeing, and to provide them with tools and techniques to manage their symptoms.

Headway East London is a local charity supporting people affected by brain injury. We support survivors, their families and carers. We work in a holistic way, favouring creative and community-based approaches backed by specialist knowledge. Because the effects of brain injury are long-term, so is our support.

Our Charity helps raise funds through various programmes and initiatives across Calderdale and Kirklees council areas, and we’d love for you to get involved with Headway Huddersfield and District.
