READ Foundation uses education as a powerful tool to narrow the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged communities. We strive to make a difference where it is needed the most. We envision a fair world where each precious child has access to their basic needs.

One-to-one support in school, to help every child learn to read well before they go to secondary school and take a full part in education. Our volunteers hear primary school children read twice a week for 10-15 minutes – we provide one to one time. This creates discussion which in turn improves social and communication skills and builds confidence.

Reclaim The Sea aims to share tools to enable people to reclaim the sea as a safe space when it has previously been one of trauma. Because the sea should be a safe space for all, regardless of who you are or where you are from.

Red Balloon Cambridge is a school that’s not a school. For many of our students, their experience of education has not been a happy one, and so we strive to offer something different. While we strive to help students make progress academically, we also focus on the young people at the heart of that process and seek to enable them to develop a positive view of themselves.

Red Balloon is an alternative to school which enables young people to re-engage with education. We have both ‘physical’ and virtual Centres to best meet students’ needs. Students are at the heart of what we do, and there is an equal focus on mental wellbeing alongside education.

The Red Card Gambling Support Project promotes AWARENESS and PREVENTION of problem gambling through education and is funded by the National Lottery and the Professional Footballers Association (PFA).
