The football's been played and what a wonderful day we had.
Played in the right spirit by all, the Corn Exchange was awash with footballing talent across a range of ages. Flashes of brilliance and goals galore. Just what we wanted.
What we (the organisers) also wanted; hoped for - was an Avison Young victory after 7 years, and finally it happened.
Group A was tight. AY won 2, lost 1. Gillespie Macandrew and Ryden won 1, drew 1, lost 1. While PMP won 1 & lost 2. AY & GM progressed to the Cup semis; Ryden & PMP, the plate or in this case, the Cat Cup.
Group B was slightly more clear cut. The GVA Allstars (made up of Duncan's former colleagues), won 2 and drew 1. Cushmans won 1 and drew 1. While Brodies and Thomas Johnstone won 1 each. GVA & Cushmans made the cup semis; Brodies and Thomas Johnstone the Cat Cup.
Group A prevailed in the semis of both cup and the final line-ups were made up of Avison Young Vs Gillespie MacAndrew and Ryden Vs PMP.
Avison Young convincing won the Cup 6-2 while PMP triumphed 4-1 in the Cat Final.
Two days to go and a successful day fundraising in 40 Torphichen Street - where we had keepy uppies, subbuteo, prizes, raffles and donations - £190 to be precise.
Thanks to colleagues, neighbours, concierge, management team and building owners.
Ali Shrive (Clearwater Analytics) was the keepy uppie king with 191.
Ailsa Lamont (Avison Young) = keepy uppie queen !!
Subbuteo challenge winners were Olivia Charlton and Natalie Dobbie of Graham & Sibbald.
Congratulations to all who took part !!!
