In 2025, we supported 8,488 families across our 14 Houses, for an average of 16 nights. Many families stay with us for months, or even years. When a child is seriously ill or injured, families don’t just visit them in hospital – they want to stay. They want to be close, informed and involved in their child’s care. We help families stay close by providing free accommodation just minutes from children’s hospital wards. Our Houses are more than somewhere to sleep. They are places where families can: • Rest and recover after exhausting days and nights in hospital • Maintain everyday routines, such as cooking meals, washing clothes or helping children with homework • Have privacy, dignity and space at a time when life feels chaotic • Use communal spaces and feel supported by compassionate staff and other families who understand We also open our doors to families to use our communal facilities, even if they are not staying with us, to get much needed respite from the medical environment. With the support of our donors and partners, we help families stay close to their child in hospital, for as long as they need to.
