Our mission at MOVE Against Cancer charity is to support, inspire and empower every single person impacted by cancer to live an active and fulfilling life. Exercise is one of the most important things anyone diagnosed with cancer can do to enhance wellbeing and improve health outcomes both during and after treatment.

All our programmes at MOVE Against Cancer are free. We have 3 key areas of work:
The Online Programme: an 8 week virtual support programme for anyone aged 13-30 diagnosed with cancer. It’s designed and delivered on a 1-1 basis by MOVE Level 4 Cancer Rehab Specialists and is tailored to the needs and interests of the young person.
5k Your Way groups: a community-based support group with a difference for those living with and beyond cancer, their families and friends, and those working in cancer services. The groups support and encourage participants to walk, jog, run, cheer, volunteer or simply come for coffee and a chat. They’re held at designated parkrun events on the last Saturday of every month and are run by volunteer ambassadors.
Resources Hub: An online information and education hub with workshops, Q&As, inspirational blogs and a podcast to help those impacted by cancer and support them to move.

Your Impact

Since 2016, we have delivered our 8 week online programme to over 500 young people aged 13-30 living with and beyond cancer. We also now have over 100 5k Your Way groups throughout the UK, which provide invaluable support to anyone affected by cancer. We have further developed our Move Your Way Resource Hub to include support for those just starting out with movement following a cancer diagnosis, and proving support to health professionals on how to advocate movement to their patients. We have a strong track record of working with underserved and diverse communities across the UK, delivering evidence based support with a culturally sensitive approach.
