We are Love Her Wild Community CIC (LHW) - the UK's largest women's adventure community!

Love Her Wild CIC began in 2017 as a small Facebook group. Since then, it has grown into a successful non-profit and one of the largest and most prominent outdoor communities in the world.

Love Her Wild is ran by a small team who all work part-time. We have over 80,000 collective members. We have 40 regional groups across the UK run by a dedicated team of approx 100 volunteers who organise free local meet-ups and adventures.

Our mission is to get more women participating in outdoor adventures. Why?
Because we know getting active outdoors improves health and wellbeing and that connecting to wild spaces leads to a passion for conservation and positive environmental changes.

Your Impact

Just 35% of participants in outdoor activities are female (Women in the Hills, 2020)

We provide advice, support, and opportunities to make getting outdoors and activities such as hiking, camping, wild swimming, and cycling, more accessible to women. We believe outdoor adventures boost well-being, increase confidence and help protect our planet through better connections to nature.

LHW works to address the problems by breaking down the biggest barriers that are stopping women from participating in outdoor activities. We increase confidence in the outdoors, by providing first time experiences, opportunities for training and upskilling, and enabling more women to progress in the outdoor sector.

8 out of 10 of our members say that being a member of LHW has inspired them to get outside averaging up to 16 additional hours a month because of their involvement with the community.

Mountain Training reported that just 20.4% of individuals holding their qualifications are female (2021).

1,000’s of women have participated in our outdoor activities, led by female instructors.

LHW runs a number of funding opportunities providing gear and spaces on adventures to women least represented in the outdoors including women from ethnic minority backgrounds, women with disabilities, or from low-income households. A grant was also set up in the name of a member who lost her battle with mental illness, specifically to provide a free place each year to at least two women recovering from poor mental health.
