About Level Water

Tags: Disability support Physical disabilities Health & Medical Children & Education

Swimming for children with disabilities is the biggest unmet need in sport. The water takes your weight; it’s a true leveller. It relieves pain and offers freedom and independence that many of our children never experience elsewhere.

Our swimmers learn strength, mobility and coordination which help with physicality out of the water too. They develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem, which can change their path in life. They learn to be strong and confident swimmers.

Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. So we work in partnership with pools and swim schools around the country. We train teachers and help with funding to offer high-quality one-to-one lessons to children with disabilities.

Your Impact

Our 1:1 swimming sessions are for children from 4 to 11 years old with a physical disability, visual impairment or hearing impairment.

These specialist sessions are designed to give young people who can't currently swim or need more dedicated attention. The lessons are designed to build their water skills in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

All of our swim teachers are specially trained to provide lessons tailored to each child's needs. From the first lesson you’ll agree goals and aim to graduate further down the line.

From physical development to social and emotional confidence, swimming is a vehicle to change their lives for the better. Starting with our specialist swimming lessons, we create opportunities for children with disabilities and their families.
