About Empowering Futures

Tags:

We are a CIC Charity and small social care farm based in South Gloucestershire near the heart of Bristol.

We use horticulture and animal therapy to create positive meaningful changes to people living in the local community who are living with disabilities, who are vulnerable, isolated or disadvantaged. We are passionate about relieving social exclusion, increasing wellbeing and reducing the disparity between those with or without disability.

We provide education in growing, gardening, cooking and employability skills. We will do this through training opportunities for our users and ultimately the local community. We work closely and seek advice from local horticulturalists, herbalists and crafters who are highly experienced in working with individuals with learning disabilities, sensory and communication impairments.

Empowering Futures promotes equality and diversity for the public benefit by offering an inclusive, safe environment whereby each person can develop and learn new skills at their own pace and feel fully supported on their individual journey. We actively encourage new ideas and ways of working and strongly believe that diversity is strength.

Your Impact

Empowering Futures (Formerly BEFF) were delivering several services prior to being recognised and registered as a charity with The Charity Commission in February 2019. Empowering Futures is going from Strength to Strength widening the reach and activity available. Making full use of the Care Farm land and growing, recycling as much as possible

We have a number of goals such as;

* To make a difference using innovative ideas and ways of working to create a unique positive space which caters for people lacking opportunity and chance

* To promote equality and diversity for the public benefit by offering an inclusive, safe environment whereby each person can develop and learn new skills.

* To provide education in growing, gardening, cooking, animal care and employability skills to adults and children with disabilities or health conditions.

* To provide training opportunities for our participants and ultimately the local community to bring people together and encourage integration and escape from isolation.

* To allow people to grow at their pace to achieve greater independence. Creating goals, upskilling and moving forward into employment where possible
