About Cameron Grant Memorial Trust

Tags: Mental health Health & Medical

We are a mental health awareness and suicide prevention charity established in memory of Cameron who took his own life at the age of 21. When he died nobody knew Cameron was ill yet he left a letter describing how he had struggled with symptoms of depression for over 7 years. Because Cameron chose to suffer in silence, Cameron Grant Memorial Trust works to encourage all in mental distress, and especially young people, to speak up and ask for help. We work with communities like universities, schools, workplaces and clubs to establish the help that matters most for that community and then create physical signposts printed with those sources of support. Our signposts take many forms such as Cameron's Coasters (drinks mats), business cards, wellbeing postcards and water bottles. We aim to create the signpost most appropriate for the setting where it is used and are always open to new ideas. We fundraise so that we can create and distribute signposts free of charge.

Your Impact

Cameron's Coasters are used in over 100 UK Universities and we have produced more than 1 million. As a partner of Shout 85258 we invite anyone in distress to seek support by texting CAM ot 85258 and this appears on many of our signposts. We know that people read this and do text 85258. We get regular requests for repeat orders.
