Ondie Wood's 'Beat It' group launched back in May 2013, in-novatively kick starting the first
company in Essex to provide regular on-going specialist access classes specifically for those diagnosed with cancer. A fully qualified exercise instructor with over 35 years in the profession as a trainer teaching everything from circuit training to ladies body
conditioning, weights and karate, with special qualification in teaching older adults, it was her experience of witnessing her mother -
Maureen's death from cancer that motivated ondie to combine her talents for both exercise and care.
" I used to do exercise with my mum, and then this qualification came. up-certitied by the register of exercise professionals. I was on the case straight away, my love for my mum and experience gave me the drive and the passion to get on with it."
Ondie passed the Level 4 Cancer Exercise Specialist qualification under the lectureship and examination of Dr Anna Camp-bell: I
couldnt save my mum, I wanted to help other women who feel so alone and isolated with this diagnosis,'
