Plan International UK

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work with girls and boys growing up in some of the world’s poorest communities, making sure they have access to the education, health care, clean water and future opportunities they need to thrive. We’re also working to create a just and equal world for girls – including here in the UK. Through our Because I am a Girl campaign we’re standing with brave girls everywhere as they take on the issues that matter to them, from child marriage to street harassment and sexual exploitation at work. We’re fighting for a world where every child, especially every girl, knows their value. We want the communities they’re growing up in – and the world around them – to value them too. And if a disaster strikes we’re there to protect children, keep them learning and help them to recover. Since 1937, Plan International has been promoting the rights of children around the world. With support from our incredible donors we’re working across more than 45 countries, making sure children in some of the world’s poorest communities are safe and protected from violence. Working in partnership with communities, we’re providing access to essential services. And we’re there when disasters happen – providing emergency relief and supporting communities to recover, rebuild and develop their resilience. 480 young women in Sierra Leone have been trained to become teachers and role models since 2014. In Malawi, child marriage was banned in 2017 thanks to our advocacy work. 6.6 million people in South Asia have gained access to improved water, sanitation and hygiene facilities since 2014.
