ActionAid

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women and girls, everywhere, can create the future they want. We focus on women and girls. Because when they unlock their potential and claim their rights, they can change the course of their lives, and the lives of their families, forever. - We partner with women, giving them the tools and skills to help themselves, and fight what holds them back. - Through our long-standing child sponsorship programme, we give children and their communities better prospects for the future. - We work directly with and through local people, gaining unparalleled insight into what works. We understand the deep-rooted problems facing women and girls and work alongside whole communities to find solutions. We make sure women and girls are safe from harm, able to earn a living and to claim their rights, and we prioritise their rights and leadership during times of crisis. ActionAid UK is part of an international federation working in 44 countries. We provide support and humanitarian assistance to people living in poverty and on the margins of survival. Together we demand action at local, national and international level. We don't walk away until we've achieved lasting change.
