Anežka's London Marathon 2023
Hi hi!
Everyone who knows me knows I love a birthday marathon weekend and this year I have been lucky enough to gain a place at Sunday's London Marathon through the Achilles Club. As it is marathon no.5, I want to use it as a chance to equally support 5 causes that are particularly close to my heart below:
1) NHS Charities Together/Blood Cancer UK - in memory of my grandma and in support of my mum and friends working in the NHS
2) Papyrus (prevention of young suicide) - in memory and support of the close people I have lost, and almost lost, to mental illness
3) Crohn's & Colitis UK - in support of my sister who was recently diagnosed
4)The Stephen Lawrence Foundation - in support of the 30th 'Stephen Lawrence Day' (22nd April) and the Stephen Lawrence Freshfields Scholarship programme my dad has helped with for many years
5) KEEN Oxford/Helen & Douglas House - in support of two wonderful local Oxford charities supporting children with disabilities and life-limiting illnesses, and in memory of a young friend who spent her final weeks at Helen & Douglas House
I am dedicating this run to my late grandparents, and running in my grandma's favourite colour (green).
