Aimee’s story
Aimee joined MERABI in 2016 & has been a core part of the team ever since. On January 8th, 2021, Aimee gave birth to her first baby Alfie Levi Rizzari, who was tragically born sleeping. It was later confirmed to Aimee that Alfie’s death was avoidable & was due to systematic errors made throughout her care.
Aimee has been very brave & vocal about her experience to help raise awareness of the issues she faced and believes that ‘Although it won’t bring Alfie back, if we can save another baby’s life then I feel like something positive can come out of such a travesty’.
Experiencing a tragedy like stillbirth and baby loss is something you never imagine going through but sadly approximately 13 babies die before, during or soon after birth every day in the UK. This is why it's so important that these 2 very special chairites get the funding they need to prevent & support other families through this time.
SANDS are the leading stillbirth & neonatal death charity in the UK. SANDS exists to reduce the number of babies dying & to ensure that anyone affected by the death of a baby receives the best possible care & support.
4LOUIS provides memory boxes for bereaved families to help inspire them to catch mementos of their baby or child, these memories are cherished forever.
In Alfie’s memory, Team MERABI is taking part in the Manchester 10k this year, to raise money for these two special & amazing charities.
Last year, Aimee gave birth to a beautiful little girl, named Lilah Isabella Rizzari one of the youngest MERABI members - whilst we are celebrating new & amazing life, it is important to us to keep Alfie’s memory alive & support the outstanding work that 4LOUIS & SANDS continue to do.
Any donations are welcome! We wish the team good luck x
