Rowing for a Cause

Rowing for a Cause

David Fuller

To celebrate Tesco Clubcard's 30th birthday, we're doing something a bit bonkers: a 30-hour rowing marathon!

From April 1st at 10am to April 2nd at 4pm, David Fuller, Pete King and Simon Lancaster will be rowing non-stop in our Slough office.
Yes, you read that right – 30 hours of rowing! IN SLOUGH!

The Challenge -

We'll each row for 10 hours, following a crazy schedule of 1 hour on and 2 hours off.
That's a lot of rowing, a lot of calories burned (nearly 10,000!), and a lot of sore muscles. Plus, we'll be battling sleep deprivation and aching backs. Fun times!

There are no official rules (this isn't a Guinness World Record attempt!), but we have to cover a minimum of 10km in an hour and the flywheel on the rower has to keep spinning for the entire 30 hours. No pressure!

Why We’re Doing This -

We wanted to mark Tesco Clubcard's 30th anniversary with a bang. By taking on this endurance challenge, we're raising awareness and funds for three amazing charities: Retina UK, Prostate Cancer UK and Alzheimer's Research UK. These charities do fantastic work, and we're thrilled to support them.

How You Can Help -

We're selling raffle tickets for £10 each, and you could win one of these awesome prizes:

1 x Concept2 RowErg (the rower we're using for the challenge and worth £1000)
1 x Samsung Galaxy S25 Phone
1 x Samsung Galaxy Watch 7
1 x Google Pixel 8 Phone

Your support will not only give you a shot at winning these cool prizes but also help our chosen charities. Every ticket sold brings us closer to our fundraising goal and makes a difference.

Either way, whether by buying raffle tickets, cheering us on, or spreading the word. Let's make this milestone celebration truly special and impactful.

Thanks for reading,
David, Pete & Simon
