Hi,
On Sunday 4th May I will be walking 26 miles in a charity walk to raise £300,000 for 2 amazing charities: Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Camp Simcha.
Why have I taken on such a big challenge?
My amazing friend Louise and her family have spent the last 2 years going through absolute hell.
When their youngest, Zack, was only 4 months old he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Now, he is 2, and is finally coming to the end of an incredibly difficult 18 months of Chemotherapy and treatment.
I honestly do not know how Louise and Sam manage everything. With 2 other kids at home, they work tirelessly to get Zack to and from appointments at GOSH and Barnet hospital, as well as all their other parenting responsibilities (which if you are a parent, you will know are never ending!).
I would like to show my support for both the Shuck family as well as these 2 amazing charities by taking part in a sponsored charity walk on Sunday 4th May.
For GOSH, the money will be put towards providing more living accommodation for the children's parents. This allows parents to be close by, which makes it easier to visit their children any time of day.
For Camp Simcha, the money will be put towards the Summer Family Retreat. This is an amazing opportunity for families with seriously ill children to live normal lives for a few days, away from it all and to have fun as a family. It is filled with unforgettable memories and fun filled days and nights.
Thank you for showing your support.
Wish me luck, suggest a song for my walk and ‘May the 4th be with us’. 💙
