Doug`s Half Marathon
As some of you may know, my daughter Lauren had open heart surgery in September last year at 10yrs old, This was her 2nd open heart surgery, as she underwent this massive operation previously at only 4 months old. She is an inspiration how amazingly resilient she is, she is truly a heart warrior.
Lauren has been under the care of Bristol Children's Hospital since the diagnosis of her heart condition at only 7 wks old, we will never be able to express our gratitude fully for the future they have given her.
We have also received huge support from Heart Heroes, a charity that works with children and their families living with heart conditions. They provide services for these children to meet with others who are in similar situations, organising events and providing socialising opportunities for them and their families.
As a thank you to these 2 amazing charities, I am going to run the Bristol half marathon and try to raise money as a donation.
