I’m running the 10k Run the Runway on Saturday 2nd November! There are 3 charities that the airport has chosen to raise the money for and one of which I have experience of when my mum had cancer, The Beatson. This incredible charity helped my mum through the hardest time of her life and seeing her ring that bell was just incredible. So I would like to try and raise as much money for all 3 charities as I can by running the 10k. If you are able to sponsor me I would be so grateful!
Welcome to Run the Runway charity event! Join us on Saturday the 02 November 2024 for a unique and exciting opportunity to run on the runway at Glasgow Prestwick Airport. This event is not just about running, it’s about making a difference.
We are proud to support three incredible cancer related charities through this event – The Beatson, Doing it for Daniel Foundation and Ayrshire Hospice. These charities hold a special place in our hearts, as we have sadly lost colleagues to cancer and have current staff members who are bravely battling the disease. Beyond our immediate community, we know that cancer touches the lives of so many people, affecting friends, families, and colleagues across the nation and that’s why we want to help make a difference.
We are asking all participants to fundraise £100. Please consider carefully whether you are able to pledge this amount before signing up as spaces are limited and the aim of this event is to fundraise as much as possible.
Minimum age limit is 8 years old. 8 -14 year olds must be accompanied by an adult, 18 years or over. All participants must bring valid photographic ID - either driving licence or passport to gain entry to the airfield. Please note, if you forget your ID you will not be able to participate as this is a regulatory requirement for anyone going airside.
This event is from 08:00 - 11:00, with check in from 06:30. All participants must complete their run/walk by 11:00.
Unfortunately spectators cannot be accommodated airside but can view from the perimeter fence and Spotters Mound, which is located off Shaw Road, KA9 2RQ.
Free car parking will be available in Car Park 3 for all participants.
