Larissa Belch's Run the Runway
I am one of a small team organising Glasgow Prestwick Airport's Inaugural Run the Runway charity event! On Saturday the 02 November 2024 we will be welcoming 1,000 fundraising runners who will complete a 5k or 10k runway run or a 5k walk. This event is not just about running, it’s about making a difference.
The Airport's nominated charities are – The Beatson, Doing it for Daniel Foundation and Ayrshire Hospice. I personally have benefited from The Beatson and Daniel was my son Mack's friend - an amazing boy and a real character. The Ayrshire Hospice also does amazing work supporting people with life-limiting illnesses.
As an organiser I am unable to take part on the day but I can confidently say I will have walked at least 10k along the runway by the time the event finishes. If you would like to make a donation I would be very grateful. I know times are increasingly tight (now that we have to put our heating on and pay astronomical bills) but even if you could manage £3 - £1 for each charity I would be eternally grateful. Please also pray that the weather is nice and sunny on the day!
