Ten Years On, Ten Ultra Marathons, Ten Months
Ten years on from us losing Sharon, my late wife to cancer, I'm planning on running ten Ultra Marathons in ten months starting in March 2025 as a memorial to her, and to support three charities that are close to my heart.
With planning well underway and some races already booked, I plan on starting off with a 51 mile race in the US, followed by 40 and 47 mile races back in the UK in April and May. A longer race is planned for June with many of the others lined up to be booked, hopefully culminating with the Portsmouth Coastal Ultra in December 2025.
Some of you will remember a similar challenge I did back in 2016, running twenty marathons that year representing a marathon for each year we were married. Running became my therapy while Sharon was undergoing treatment for her devastating illness, and continues to help. The support I received back in 2016 and since has been overwhelming, and again I hope to be able to raise funds for these three charities in order that they are able to continue their essential work supporting others in their time of need.
