I'm doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge to fundraise for our two nominated charities - the Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) and Aladina.
Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF)
CHUF's vision is to support pioneering services that will positively impact heart families, inspire hope and enable Heart Heroes to reach their full potential. CHUF supports children and families who receive treatment at the Children’s Heart Unit based at the Freeman Hospital and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England.
Fundación Aladina
The Aladina Foundation represents a new approach to pediatric cancer care in Spain. Celebrating 18 years of dedicated service, Aladina has become the country’s leading foundation in supporting children and adolescents with cancer and their families. Annually assisting over 2,000 children and their families—amounting to 20,000 since its inception in 2005—Aladina collaborates with 20 hospitals across Spain. The foundation introduces an innovative model of care previously unseen in Spain, where medical treatment is seamlessly integrated with laughter, play, and love. This approach is particularly beneficial for adolescents, who, until recently, were largely overlooked in cancer treatment protocols.
