Cape Wrath Ultra
On the 21st May this year I am going to attempt the maddest adventure of my life! I will run the Cape Wrath Ultra – 400km up the west of Scotland from Fort William to the Cape Wrath Lighthouse. Over 8 days I will run, walk and crawl over 11,500m of mountains, heather, peat bogs and river crossings. Camping each night, I will start again at 7am each morning! You’re mad I hear you cry! So why do it?
Two reasons:
1. It is a bucket list thing for me – I love running (crucial for my own mental health), I love the West of Scotland and I love a challenge.
2. The serious bit – in the time it takes me (8 days), 90 men will take their own lives in the UK. This is such a tragedy for them, their families and everyone this touches.
I will be running and hoping to raise as much as I can for two charities close to my heart:
CALM – campaign against living miserably – https://www.thecalmzone.net/
Sunflowers – https://sunflowerssuicidesupport.org.uk/
75% of suicides are men. Families affected by suicide get very little support.
If you can help at all, no matter how little, please visit my just giving page and sponsor me,
Thank you.

Wishing you loads of energy and strength. I had to donate as my friend buries her daughter tomorrow. A beautiful girl who sadly took her own life.

Yes, you're as mad as a box of badgers, but you have all my respect. Well done Loz. I wish you all the best for what is a seriously difficult challenge.
