The Great Walk 2024
On Friday I'll be walking 26.2 miles through taking part in "The Great Walk", an annual event, where Unilever employees come together by walking a full marathon and raising money for charity. Add on a couple of miles getting to the start of the event, walking to the Tube, and then walking back to the station etc, it's more like 30 miles by the end of the day!
This year I am raising money for Maggies - a cancer care charity (https://www.maggies.org) who do provide the best possible support free to anyone with cancer and their families who walk through their doors; AND a charity that is local to where Unilever's HQ is located, called SERV Surrey & London which provides an urgent volunteer based blood delivery service every night across Surrey and London at no cost to the NHS (https://servsl.org.uk/).
Over the past four years we have seen over 800 employees come together and raise over £200,000 for The Great Walk's charity partners.
If you are able to put your hands in your pockets and donate just a few quid to support these incredible causes I'll be very chuffed!
