Coast to coast walk
Four friends brought together by a combination of family and football decided to carry out the coast to coast walk, following Alfred Wainwrights route from St Bees on the west coast to Robin Hoods bay on the east coast of England. With a combined age of over 260 years and no previous history of long distance walking it promises to offer an achievable but not insignificant challenge.
We have chosen to raise money for two charities as part of our walk. The first being a lesser known charity which supports those affected by spinal muscular atrophy. We have friends who support the same club as three of our group whose lives were affected by this condition and this has been our reason for choosing this particular charity. The other charity we wish to support is the Lincs and Notts air ambulance which is local to us, has helped people that we know, and whilst it is one that we hope we will never need ourselves it's reassuring to know it's there helping people in the area.
