Quick update - We survived the NYC marathon! 23 degrees / 83% humidity - hottest NYC marathon ever! But what an amazing atmosphere! Thank you for all of your encouragement and for your generous sponsorship - we are delighted to have raised a few £s for 2 great charities in my Mum’s memory. Thank you, thank you xx
After 20 years ( well 22 years to be precise given covid cancelled the event!) - Rich and I are heading back to NYC this weekend to run the marathon again! Apparently, there is potential to get faster as you get older - but I don’t think it’s playing out that way for us!! Sadly, i can't find any photos of the previous trip but have a certificate and a medal as evidence!
Looking to raise some much needed funds for 2 key charities - Pancreatic Cancer UK and Marie Curie ( the latter, also happens to be our chosen charity this year at KPMG). I have chosen these charities to honour my Mum’s memory and given the terrible effect cancer has on so many of us.
I can’t believe it is 5 years since Mum passed away so suddenly from pancreatic cancer - such a shock at the time. My mum always lived life to the full and gave us that spirit too ( thank you Mum) - just wish she had lived to later in life as I really miss sharing so much with her.
I hope we do her proud by finishing the marathon successfully - I know she would be really proud of us ( but she would also think we are a little mad!!). Any donation you might be able to give is really appreciated - thank you.
