Aberdeen Runway Run 2024
We have chosen to run the Aberdeen Midnight Runway 4K for the Forget Me Not Club charity which has deeply affected both of us.
Forget-Me-Not Club is a small registered charity based in Banchory, providing dementia support across Aberdeenshire. Their objective is to provide support to not only those living with a dementia diagnosis, but also their carers - helping to make life that little bit easier.
Shona is running on behalf of her Gran (Granny Jo) who sadly passed away in February 2018, and her Great Aunt, Kate who currently resides at Haven Court Care Home.
Anita is running on behalf of her Mum Jackie, who sadly passed away in April 2021, after a 6 year battle with Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia at the age of 60.
Dementia is an umbrella term for loss of memory and other thinking abilities severe enough to interfere with daily life.
This greatly impacts the person suffering as well as every one around them.
We are therefore looking for any donations however big or small that you are able to contribute towards our cause which will massively help provide support for families living with this terrible disease.
