Steve and Cedric are off their trolley!
Steve and Cedric are off their trolley!
2021 I was diagnosed with rare Neuroendocrine Cancer and told that without major surgery I would have only 8 months to live. At no time have I ever considered that this would be an option. Three years later and after two major abdominal operations, waving goodbye to several organs, my current diagnosis is stable, although the cancer is still with me and always will be. The thought of doing an event to give something back has always been part of my drive to recovery. But what to do?
It had to be something different, wacky and that has never been done before!
So, the challenge is...
A marathon walk (26.2 miles)
Pushing a shopping trolley
With a passenger mannequin called Cedric sporting flying goggles and a RAF style moustache.
It has been 3 years of a hard struggle to get to a stage where I can do this challenge, in the early stages only able to walk 50 meters, but with the wonderful support of friends, family and the charities who I am supporting, I am ready!
I will be walking with the trolley and Cedric doing multiple laps around my home town of Witney in Oxfordshire to make up the marathon distance.
My charities are Neuroendocrine Cancer UK and Cancer Research UK.
So please donate, whatever you can, to make my endeavours worthwhile.
Many, many thanks Steve
