Orlaith the Way To Donegal Charity Cycle Team 5
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page of Debs Hayden, John Moriarty, Anthony Moriarty, Sean Fahy, John Donnelly, Liam Donnelly and Michael Hayden. Together with our dedicated team of 56 cyclists and 12 support members spread across both England and Ireland, we are gearing up for our upcoming cycling challenge, "Orlaith the Way to Donegal," in May this year.
After the success of our two previous cycling events, this year we are taking on our most challenging event yet. Departing from Cork in the South of Ireland on Thursday 30th May 2024, we'll be cycling ‘Orlaith the way’ to the northwest of Ireland, arriving on Saturday 1st June 2024, in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
In preparation, our team is enduring weekly gruelling training sessions (in all weather conditions) to ensure we're ready for the challenge ahead. The route will test our endurance, with cyclists facing an elevation gain of 10,000 feet over the three days covering a whopping 263 miles— our biggest challenge yet.
As always, the team have chosen two well deserving charities to benefit 50:50 from the funds raised from this event. NICE – Centre for Movement disorders based in Birmingham, England who continue to support our wonderful Orlaith and do fantastic work with many individuals who are impacted by a range of physical difficulties. Our second chosen charity is well-respected Irish charity, Pieta House, who offer much needed support to those in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm. Both charities work so hard to help those in need of their services and as a team we wish to acknowledge the wonderful work they do by raising as much money as possible for them.
Please consider making a donation to support our fundraising event and help us show our thanks to these fabulous charities…any amount big or small can really make a difference and will be really appreciated by all involved 😊
