National Three Peaks Challenge
From August 2023 to July 2024, we are going to work together to fundraise for our two nominated charities - the Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) and Aladina.
After having taken on the 2023 Great North Run I thought another physical challenge was needed to prevent myself from getting complacent; so what better way to achieve this than by undergoing the daunting National Three Peaks challenge with the support of my colleagues at Tombola and the chance to support a good cause with the Children's Heart Unit Fund and Spain's Fundación Aladina!
Training for this challenge has been pretty difficult with Sunderland's highest peak being Penshaw Monument at a whopping 450 feet 😅 but with plenty bike rides, runs and the occasional trips to the lakes, I think we'll just about manage, I've managed to ascend Helvellyn and Scafell Pike since setting this goal both at around the 3 hour mark so fingers crossed I can keep that kind of momentum by the final hours on Snowdon 😫
Depending how this goes I may be put off mountains full stop but one things for certain, I'll definitely be cracking a cold can on the final peak 👀
