Rage X-Treme is proudly fundraising for Children with Cancer Fund & Ronald McDonald House - two incredible charities that hold a very special place in all our hearts.Every donation helps us give back to the organisations that stood beside both Rage X-Treme families during our darkest moments. Together, we honour Ruby's legacy, recognise Oakland's courageous start to life, and acknowledge the incredible emotional and financial support both of our families received. It is now our turn to give back by helping these amazing charities continue to provide hope, care, and compassion to other families facing unimaginable circumstances.Oakland's Story by Amy & BenIn 2022 we learnt Oakland would be born with Exomphalos, a rare condition where a baby's abdominal organs develop outside the body. We didn't know how severe his condition would be until he was born & prepared ourselves for a lifetime of surgeries, with his first operation planned for just two days after his birth. With Oakland in the NICU & myself on the recovery ward, Ben had nowhere to stay close to either of us, leading him to spend several nights sleeping in his car. When Ronald McDonald House Brighton learned of Ben's situation, they immediately provided him with a room just moments from the hospital. They also gave him food parcels, essential facilities and me with a portable breast pump when it was found that Oakland could only be fed breast milk. Their support eased both the emotional and financial pressures during the hardest time of our lives.Ronald McDonald House gave us far more than a place to stay—they gave us the precious gift of staying together as a family when we needed it most. Their kindness continues to provide that same comfort and support to countless other families, which is why keeping this incredible charity thriving means so much to us.Ruby's Story by Kate & KrisIn 2020, our world changed forever when our daughter Ruby was diagnosed with brain cancer. During the hardest time of our lives, Ronald McDonald House and Children with Cancer Fund stepped in to carry us.Ronald McDonald House gave us a place to stay while Ruby was undergoing surgery at King’s Hospital, keeping us right by her side when she needed us most. Children with Cancer Fund became our constant support system. They made wishes come true, giving Ruby, her sister Jess, and myself precious days out and gifts to make a horrible time a little better. Whether it was a Christmas voucher to help with shopping or luxurious food parcels, they were always in the background. They even brought families together so we never felt alone.Even now, since Ruby has passed, Children with Cancer Fund are still there, quietly checking in to make sure I am okay. Neither family will never forget what these charities did for us. It’s time for us to give back, so we are hosting a charity car smash to show them exactly how much we appreciate them. Please support us if you can!
