Smair's FIFA Meltdown for The Weans and Medical Aid in Palestine
Smair's FIFA Meltdown for The Weans and Medical Aid in Palestine
Hi folks! My name is Steven, or Smair to most people. I’m absolutely obsessed with FIFA - sorry, EAFC as its now called - and have played it since I was a wee lad! Now as part of my job with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity I run a campaign called Games for the Weans, in which gamers, streamers and games companies have been fundraising to buy games consoles and equipment for kids in hospital who are now the age I was when I first discovered how good it feels to score from 30 virtual yards ⚽️
Since starting the campaign through my role at the charity I've always wanted to chip in with a fundraiser of my own but in the last few weeks I’ve decided to take a slightly different approach and create this split fundraising page after the heart-breaking scenes from Gaza. I’ve seen the power of fundraising in action through my job and hope in some small way this could help people in a desperate situation.
Therefore this fundraiser, in which I break my brain on FIFA for 24 straight hours, will benefit both ‘Games for the Weans’ by Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Medical Aid for Palestinians.
From 5am-5am on Saturday November 18/Sunday November 19 I’ll be on FIFA. We’ll have a bit of everything, Ultimate Team Champions, Pro Clubs, even Career Mode. The twist is that every item in my Ultimate Team, my career mode and my Pro will all be changed to Hibs, a team I very much do not support, to make things a bit more brutal. All being well this will be streamed at twitch.tv/smairao47 so you can tune in and see me lose game after game no matter what time of day!
Thank you so much for reading and it would be fantastic to have your support.
