From the 22nd to 24th September 2023 I will be cycling* 160 miles off-road from Hertfordshire to Somerset in support of 20 amazing charities and in celebration of 20 years of Positive Momentum.
In 2013 I 'celebrated' 10 years of Positive Momentum by running 10km in 10 cities across Europe in 10 consecutive days and raised more than £10k for 10 charities. Of course some have suggested I should be running 20km in 20 cities in 20 days. There are a number of reasons that's not happening, not least the carbon that the air miles would create.
As a B Corp we're committed to eliminating our carbon consumption, and even pay back our historic carbon debt, so this ride is a somewhat sustainable way of getting from my home in North Hertfordshire to the venue for our annual partner retreat the following week in North Cadbury in Somerset.
I appreciate that you will be asked very often to support charities but even the smallest donation is welcomed. Thank you.
* In the spirit of full transparency and since I am far from a seasoned cyclist I'll admit that I'm using a bike that offers just a little extra electric assistance for the more challenging hills. I suspect that endurance challenge purists will take a very dim view of me for that, but I hope that doesn't dim your enthusiasm for supporting these 20 phenomenal charities.
