Fundraising with Ride 100
On 28//05/23 I am riding 100 miles to raise money and awareness of two charities I think highly of…
Firstly, for anyone who knows me (or follows me on social media) it won’t be a surprise to see I am raising money and awareness for Bipolar UK ( https://www.bipolaruk.org ). Bipolar is a chronic and serious mental illness that has caused catastrophic problems in my life and for many thousands of others in the UK, however it is heavily under researched and misunderstood. Bipolar UK are a great resource for education and support for anyone effected by bipolar.
In addition, I will be supporting Sport In Mind ( https://www.sportinmind.org ).
Sport In Mind are a relatively small charity who work locally to me. They are doing great things with the community by using the power of sport to transform the lives of children and adults struggling with mental health/illness. I have seen their engagement first hand whilst working at Prospect Park, Reading (psychiatric hospital) and have also been signposted to them for my own mental health needs.
Although exercise is not a cure, I do whole heartedly believe that it is a great tool for recovery and/or increased mental and physical wellbeing. Sport and exercise is an integral part of my own care plan for multiple mental diagnoses. I hope that Sport In Mind can help inspire and motivate other individuals in need.
Thank you in advance for your generous contributions to these causes and I hope to make you all proud with my efforts.
