Join us on Sunday 5th October 2025 at Victoria Park, Leicester for a special day of running, walking, and community spirit – all to raise funds for life-changing treatment for our beloved Gilly Entwistle.

This event is not just about running – it is about hope, determination, and giving Gilly the fighting chance she deserves.

Why We Are Running

On 5 January 2025, Gilly’s life turned upside down when she suffered a sudden seizure. Just two days later, doctors gave her the devastating news: she had an aggressive, fast-growing brain tumour.

In true Gilly spirit, she faced it head-on. On 16 January, a skilled NHS surgical team performed a near-total resection of her brain tumour. She has bravely undergone combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy and is currently on high dose chemotherapy combined with hyperthermia treatment.

But the battle is not over.

Cancerous brain tumours are relentless. While NHS standard treatments help, they are often not enough. Gilly urgently needs Targeted Therapies or Immunotherapy, cutting-edge treatments that have shown life-changing results in improving survival rates and quality of life.

However, these treatments are not available on the NHS and come with an overwhelming cost of £250,000. Without them, Gilly’s options are limited—but with them, she has a real fighting chance.
