On the 7th June 2023, thirteen convertibles set off from Old Reigatians Rugby Club on Park Lane 🏁 , each costing no more than £999, each having seen much better days, each faced with a near 1500km drive through the heart of France to our final destination, Antibes. A roads only - hefty fines for anybody caught using a toll road. A 3 day, epic journey raising over £80,000 for charity, striking fear into the heart of every driver & co-driver - would their fine steed make it through the night and day that followed? The lights on the dashboard of a combination of middle aged Mercs, stumbling Saabs, mature Mazdas and minging Minis would have caused the Blackpool Illuminations to feel like a poor relation, Every roof stayed down, come rain ☂ or shine 🌞 . There was intense heat through Rennes and there were heavy storms through the mountains north of Grasse. There were laughs, there were tears. There was emotion and there were serious concerns as the cars climbed well over 6000ft on numerous occasions - clutches that smelt more like a blast furnace and brakes that you could have fried eggs on. An amazing trip, an enormous well done to all those who took part and last but not least, a huge thank you to all of you who have sponsored us - it is YOU who make the difference.

They aim to produce sufficient income to support a wider range of deserving pupils through immediate bursarial support addressing the issue of Social Mobility in the local area.
