On 21st June 2025, Cheltenham B Shift at Gloucestershire Constabulary were heartbroken to find their beloved colleague, PC 5080 Ian Minett just before the end of shift who had an unexpected heart attack at the age of 38 years old. Despite the best efforts of his colleagues, Ian could not be brought back.

As a shift, it felt right that we do something challenging and inspiring to remember Ian and raise as much as humanly possible for two wonderful charities:

The British Heart Foundation
Care of Police Survivors

As of 1st September 2025, the group of 5 will tackle a mammoth task of running 5080km (1016km each), finishing their journey at Cheltenham Half Marathon in September 2026.
