Road Rage Cowboy

Martin had always been a lover of tractors, with a small but cherished collection that reflected his passion for the machines. One day, about a year ago, his old friend Marius came to him with a question. Marius, a skilled mechanic who had worked for a local MF dealer in the past, was curious about Martin's plans for the 35x tractor he'd purchased two years earlier.

At the time, the 35x was in need of some attention, and Marius, ever the expert, saw an opportunity. He offered to fully renovate the tractor for Martin, provided Martin would fund the project. In exchange, Marius had an audacious idea: he wanted to organize a charity tractor run around the coast of Britain. It sounded like a madcap plan, but Martin trusted Marius and agreed to the terms.

And so, the two friends embarked on a journey that would bring them closer than ever. Last year, they began the painstaking process of stripping the 35x down to its bare bones. Piece by piece, they meticulously restored the tractor, bringing it back to life. It was hard work, but as the months passed, they could see the machine taking shape. Now, after much dedication, the restoration was complete. The 35x had been road-tested and was running smoothly, ready for the challenge ahead.

Marius had a vision in mind, a run that would stretch around the entire British coastline. Depending on how strictly they adhered to the coast, the route could span an incredible 5,500 miles. It was going to be a massive undertaking, both in terms of time and money, and both men knew it would require a great deal of planning and organization. They were, however, determined to see it through, and that’s why they were now reaching out for support.

The charity run was not just about the adventure; it was about giving back to causes that held deep personal meaning for both Martin and Marius. After numerous discussions, they settled on five charities to support: Cancer Research UK, My Name'5 Dodie Foundation, RSABI, and SANE. These organizations had been significant in their lives—each one linked to a personal story, a family member, or a friend who had been touched by illness or hardship. The charities represented a cause worth fighting for.

Marius and Martin both had a history of charity work. In 2022, Marius had embarked on a motorbike journey from Aberdeenshire to Norway in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, raising funds and awareness along the way. It was just one example of his tireless dedication to helping others.

Martin also has an history of fundraising, among those the accolade for the highest ever amount raised by a contestant in the Highland Hospice’s annual fundraiser “Strictly Inverness” raising over £70,000 and now, the dynamic duo are determined to make this next endeavour even more impactful.
