Running a Marathon. Knitting a Scarf. For My Mum.
8656
On 26 April I’m running the London Marathon while knitting a scarf. Yes. At the same time.
I’m aiming for a world record, but this isn’t about the record. It’s about my mum.
She has Huntington’s Disease. It slowly steals movement, speech, independence. Watching someone you love change like that, and feeling helpless, is brutal. There’s no cure. You just try to show up.
I’m doing this because the only thing I can control is how I show up.
I’m a former Royal Marine. I know what it’s like to fight battles inside your head. I’ve seen how movement, purpose, and community can save lives. That’s why I’m raising money for HDA UK, who support families like mine, and ReOrg Charity, who help veterans and frontline workers rebuild themselves.
This challenge is exhausting, emotional, and uncomfortable. But so is watching your mum slowly disappear.
Every mile I run, every stitch I make, it’s for her. And for anyone else living this reality.
If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, share it. Every bit helps.
It all matters more than you know.
