I am Jim (or Jamie) have been on a long journey with serious liver disease culminating in a "Works Approved Parts Upgrade" in January this 2026. I am incredibly lucky to be alive and so have committed to putting something back to the community. I am calling my Charity initiative "The Pirate Project" and this is the Fundraising Page for Donatons. 100% of all donations to this page will go to the Charities listed on this page. I have chosen six Charities.Three are Farming or Equestrian Charities as that is my background. Two of the others are NHS Trusts, Leeds Teaching Hospital where I received a liver transplant and amazing support, and Darlington Memorial Trust who unquestionably saved my life. Finally the British Liver Trust, who provide invaluable support to many people with liver disease as well as raising awareness of the fast rising numbers of liver-related issues and how imperative early diagnosis is to achieve positve outcomes. All support will be humbly and gratefully received by all of us. My first venture was to complete the Great North Run in September 2025, just over 7 months after my liver transplant. Tribute has to go to a huge team who helped me get fit for that. If only they had let me start at the front with the elites, I might just have given em a fright!!!! Unfortunately, upheaval in my personal life and a health setback has put us behind, but we are over that setback and busy planning some exciting fundraising initiatives for the rest of 2026!! Details about those will follow in due course. This Charity work is not just about fundraising, however. I am also looking to work with other Charities to provide support for people with well being and mental health Challenges and working with others to promote understanding of mental health issues, how we best help people with these challenges and suffering bereavement. My journey was one with liver disease, but it was every bit as much a psychological challenge as it was a physical one. Thank you all of you for your generous donations and your kindness and support provided in so many different ways, sometimes without even knowing it!! Sharing Pirate Spirit with you all!!!! 🏴☠️💪AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
