As a group of Directors at Formula One Autocentres, we are taking on the 137 mile Coast to Coast bicycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, from 13th to 15th June 2025, climbing 10,000 feet along the way.
It's safe to say we've started from a very low base (VERY low) and are dreading the climbs, but we're pleased to be doing this for two really worthwhile causes and would be delighted if you felt able to sponsor us, as it makes the pain more manageable.
The charities we are supporting are Playskill and Ben;
Playskill supports physically disabled children, and their families, in Hertfordshire. The unique one-stop-shop offers free specialist playgroups providing expert physical therapies, alongside training & support for parents; and respite events for the whole family, all year round.
Our Finance Director, Simon Hughes, has been involved with Playskill since it began in 2006, with his wife Debbie being one of the original team members and still actively involved today.
"The work that the guys at Playskill do is very humbling. They are literally changing people's lives, not just the kids that come to the sessions, but also the parents and siblings. The team are all superstars and if we can raise some money to help support their work then that makes all the pain we're feeling in our legs (and bottoms) right now worth it".
Ben is dedicated to supporting the people of the automotive industry, providing support for life for them & their family dependents. Ben works with people to improve their lives by enhancing their health & wellbeing through its free & confidential online self-help, helpline and support services.
As employers of 900 people and many more who have worked with us in the past (plus their families), we really appreciate the support Ben provides and are delighted to be able to raise money to further support them in their work.
When any member of our automotive family is struggling or in crisis, we all rally to support them.
