This July, I am embarking on an challenging journey as part of a team of six, rowing from Grimsby to Ramsgate, covering approximately 240 miles.
This challenge is the final leg of the round Great Britain "Conquer the Coast for Children in Need" event.
Over approximately five days, we will row continuously, switching 3 rowers, three hours on and three hours off, sleeping in a small cabin on board. It promises to be a gruelling experience filled with blisters and lack of sleep. I hope that the North Sea will be kind to us; however, our Ocean Rowing Boat is designed to right itself should we encounter any capsizing.
I am raising funds for two remarkable causes: BBC Children in Need and the St Vincent de Paul Society (SPV) The SVP in Southend-on-Sea operates through its St Vincent's Centre, providing essential community support services such as foodbank assistance, hot meals, outreach support, household items and clothing, counselling services, dementia support, and a befriending program. Their inclusive volunteering initiative plays a vital role in uplifting our community. My wife Daniela is a regular volunteer and sees first hand the vital work the centre does.
I invite you to consider sponsoring me for this challenging endeavour. Your generous contributions will not only support my journey but also make a significant impact on the lives of those who rely on these invaluable charities. Together, we can create positive change and bring hope to those in need.
