From 0 to 26.2 Miles - For Three Causes Close to My Heart

Seven months ago, I never imagined taking on this challenge—but thanks to Cycle Sisters, I’ve found the strength, support, and confidence to push beyond my limits. This journey is bigger than just completing 26.2 miles. I’m running for three causes that truly matter—three causes that embody hope, resilience, and humanity.

Why I’m Running
For over 17 months, I have witnessed unimaginable devastation. I have seen children killed, hospitals and healthcare workers targeted, ambulances destroyed—the fabric of an entire nation torn apart. Six-year-old Hind being shot at 355 times. The livestream tragedy is, without a doubt, the worst thing I have ever witnessed in my life.

I refuse to stand by in silence. That’s why I’m running for:

❤️ Health Workers 4 Palestine (HW4P)
HW4P was co-founded by a group of doctors in October 2023, in the UK, to combat the censorship they experienced, when standing up for the rights of Palestinian health workers and the rights of Palestinians to healthcare. This grassroots movement mobilised within a couple of months to now be established across 70 cities, globally. I have been an active member since the start.

I am running for the launch of the HW4P Solidarity Fund, a global mutual aid initiative led by health workers and allies to rebuild a Palestinian-led healthcare system in Gaza that has been devastated by systematic destruction.
Initial funds will support the families of those healthcare workers who have been killed, who were either the main bread winners or key financial contributors for the family unit.

💙 Project Pure Hope
A humanitarian initiative founded by senior doctors and healthcare leaders, dedicated to helping Palestinian children in need of urgent, life-saving medical treatment.
This initiative is working with local and international partners to transfer children who require specialist, multidisciplinary medical treatment—currently unavailable in Gaza—to the UK.
Every step I take in this marathon is for those children who deserve a chance to heal, a chance to live.
Just editing this post to make it clear that Pure Project Hope is linked with UCL charities...

🚴‍♀️ Cycle Sisters
I’m also raising funds for Cycle Sisters, a life-changing community that encourages women to take up cycling, improving physical health, confidence, and social connection. Their work is about more than just cycling—it’s about empowerment, inclusion, and breaking barriers.

The Last 8 Miles—Every Step Has a Name

As the miles get tougher, I will be running with the names of those who inspire me, those I’ve lost, and those I fight for in my heart.
Mile 18 – In memory of Adil Al-Hadithy
Mile 19 – In memory of Aunty Ranjana Khiroya and Aunty Nalini Mistry
Mile 20 – In memory of Uncle Ming and Uncle Shing Sun
Mile 21 – In memory of Parvin and Mehdi Marashi
Mile 22 – In memory of Isa Ansari
Mile 23 – For my Mum, Nada, and Nawfal—for their unwavering support
Mile 24 – For Sami—my shining star
Mile 25 – For my friends who always have my back

And last but not least, the final part:
Mile 26 - For Justice for Palestine and for humanity and my new found Palestinian Comrades /Hw4Pal / FB friends / Big Ride for Palestine – thank you for seeing me through many a dark time.

❤️🍉Justice will prevail...🍉❤️ (and for some stupid reason I can't add a Palestine flag here.... I don't know why )

Love to all of you xx
Thank you for your love and support.
Every donation makes a difference. ❤️
Huda xx
