On the 20th of March my colleagues and I will be partaking in a Firewalk for charity! This entails walking bare foot over twenty feet of red-hot coals, all in the name of raising money for two charities who help families in their times of need. Having worked in Elmbridge for the past year I have seen and heard about all the good that these charities do, so anything you can give is much appreciated.
Home-Start Elmbridge is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. It offers practical and emotional support to families who are struggling to cope for a variety of reasons, from illness, poverty, and isolation through to domestic violence and poor mental health. Home-Start Elmbridge is there for parents when they need it most because childhood can’t wait.
The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust also supports vulnerable families within Elmbridge. It looks to provide funding for necessary furniture and household items/services such as beds, washing machines, fridges, rugs, support with educational expenses, books and equipment and sometimes a contribution towards necessary disability equipment, where it is not met by the NHS.
Thank you so much for your support and wish me luck!
