Neil's Castle Walk

At the end of March, we will be walking from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle (and back!).

In 2021, Neil was involved in a car incident in Australia that resulted in a brain injury and he started to have rehab to regain independence. He had to learn to walk again. Neil is at the stage of walking with a pole and assistance of another and was inspired to undertake this challenge as his next big goal! The walk has a number of different gradients and textures which make it a big challenge! The distance Neil is walking will be the furthest he has walked in one go since his accident.

Neil has chosen the Toby Henderson Trust as they have been instrumental in the development of his nephew Cameron, who has a diagnosis of Autism. In 2008, Neil ran the Great North Run in aid of the THT on the eve of his departure to Australia where he fondly spent 15 years. At the very end of 2022, Neil returned back to the UK to continue his therapy and rehabilitation with the ongoing support of his family.
