Support the Cullivoe Up Helly Aa Jarl Squad – Braving the Shave for Charity!
This year, the Cullivoe Up Helly Aa Jarl Squad, led by their first-ever female Jarl, Alice Jamieson, is taking on the brave the shave challenge to raise funds for two incredible charities – the Meningitis Research Foundation and the MS Society.
These causes are close to Alice’s heart. Her brother’s recent diagnosis with multiple sclerosis (MS) and her close friend (and soon-to-be sister-in-law) surviving a battle with meningitis as a child have inspired this act to support.
Alice’s squad of 17 – including 10 women – is proudly honoring Cullivoe traditions by participating in the annual head and beard shaving event. For those not quite ready to go fully bald, they’ll be cutting their locks to donate to the Little Princess Trust, providing wigs for children facing hair loss. The squad have also taken on and have planned more physical challenges throughout the year such as Edinburghs Marathon Festival.
How You Can Help:
Every donation will be split equally between the MS Society and the Meningitis Research Foundation to fund vital research, raise awareness, and provide support for those affected.
Your support, big or small, will make a huge difference. Together, we can help fight meningitis and multiple sclerosis while celebrating this historic moment for Cullivoe Up Helly Aa.
Thank you for your generosity and encouragement!
