In memory of Thomas Bulger
My Dad was diagnosed with having Lymphoma in 2021.
In November 2024 the Lymphoma had become too aggressive and my Dad sadly passed away.
Dad was a true hero. He fought and overcome many obstacles in his life.
After his death, several people approached me about donations and fundraising. As a family we have decided to split donations between the Stroke Association and Lymphoma Action.
My Dad had 2 strokes in his lifetime.
His first stroke was just after my parents had married, when he was in his early 20s and was life changing.
Dad managed to overcome the stroke to live a very successful life and career. For most of his working life, Dad went onto help other people affected by having a stroke through his work as a Rehabilitation Officer at Bootle Day Centre.
Dad had a wood workshop and would help and support disabled people who visited the centre. In this workshop, Dad and his clients would often craft a variety of things made from wood including tables and benches.
Dad retired around 2011 and began to paint again, producing watercolours of local landmarks around Ainsdale and beyond.
In 2021, Dad was diagnosed with having Lymphoma cancer. He battled the disease for 3 years but in November 2024, we sadly said goodbye to Dad.
As well as raising money for Lymphoma Action, our family wanted to raise money for the Stroke Association, as this was something that Dad had interacted with for many years of his life.
