Belfast2Bilbao Charity Cycle
On May 14th a group of 7 novice cyclists will start a 1,400+ km cycle from Belfast with the goal of arriving in Bilbao on May 26th.
The team will be fundraising for three charities:
DKMS: recruits blood stem cell donors, provides second chances at life for those in need of a transplant, and raises funds to cover donor registration costs.
Angel Wishes: provides well-being and financial support to children and their families affected by cancer related conditions; and
Band of Builders: carries out projects and adaptations to help those from the construction sector and their families affected by life changing illnesses or disabilities.
For the majority of the trip the team will be camping as they make their way from Belfast to Rosslare before taking a ferry to Cherbourg, France. From there the team will make their way along the Atlantic coast of France and onwards to the Pyrenees before making their final journey towards Bilbao.

Stage 1: Belfast to Drogheda (135km)
Stage 2: Drogheda to Rathdrum (103km)
Stage 3: Rathdrum to Rosslare Harbour (96km)
Stage 4: Cherbourg to Coutances (77km)
Stage 5: Coutances to Liffré (124km)
Stage 6: Liffré to Nantes (124km)
Stage 7: Nantes to La Rochelle (140km)
Stage 8: La Rochelle to Vensac (107km)
Stage 9: Vensac to Bordeaux (125km)
Stage 10: Bordeaux to Mimizan (125km)
Stage 11: Mimizan to Biarritz (108km)
Stage 12: Biarritz to San Sebastián (52km)
Stage 13: San Sebastián to Bilbao (123km)
Total distance: 1,431km
