In 2025, I will be running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for two incredible charities that are close to my heart.
The first charity is Leukaemia Care. For the past 21 years, my nana has bravely battled leukaemia, and throughout this time, Leukaemia Care has provided her with unwavering support and care. They have been a lifeline for our family, offering guidance and comfort during the most challenging times. I was honoured to receive my marathon spot through them, and I’m running to give back as a small token of thanks for the difference they’ve made in her life and the lives of so many others.
The second charity is Breast Cancer UK. Earlier this year, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her begin this difficult journey has made me more determined than ever to do whatever I can to help. By raising funds for Breast Cancer UK, I hope to support their crucial work in helping patients, including my mum, and funding research that will one day bring an end to this devastating disease.
I will be running the 26.2 miles not just as a challenge for myself, but as a tribute to the strength and courage of both my nana and my mum. My mother has a long road ahead, but her resilience inspires me every day. Mum, you are incredible, and I am running this race in your honour.
I’ve already raised £210 on my JustGiving page, and I am aiming to raise £2,300 for Leukaemia Care and £700 for Breast Cancer UK (£3000 overall goal). Your generous donations will be split, with 75% going to Leukaemia Care and 25% to Breast Cancer UK. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference and helps these charities continue their life-saving work.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support. It means everything to my family, and together we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by leukaemia and breast cancer.
